Solution Kit 6: Reaping Your Rewards

This is the last Solution Kit and involves a time of celebration! But it also involves a very essential part of the training that takes you up and over to experience a Solution in your life.

During the first four chapters, you will do some final “emotional cleaning up,” listing everyone you still hold a grudge for, including family, friends, co-workers, spouses, yourself and the spiritual. Nobody is off limits here because you can forgive someone, but still choose to not have anything to do with them. The forgiveness washes out the hate and the hate is what ramps up our stress.

You’ll also have a few good laughs and “that rings trues” as you clip the cords to your relational external solution, such as merging and distancing. These are so primitive that it often takes until late in the process to weaken or break them. What’s more, most of us have a host of “Intimacy Blockers” - patterns we’ve developed because we didn’t have intimacy in our lives, only merging and distancing. Those “habits” can be rewiried.

During the remainder of the course you’ll probably finding yourself soaring as you enjoy the rewards of your training, especially intimacy and spirituality. This is not a religious method; however, we observe that when the brain is in homeostasis, with surges of pleasure from natural sources, addictions, bad habits, compulsions and unfortunate patterns lose their appeal, and are replaced with compassion and love for ourselves, for others and for the planet. There is a strong sense of something greater than ourselves, however we define it, which we refer to in The Method as the reward of spirituality.

With this course, each weekly chapter includes small sections on different topics. Again, do not rush this course. In fact, take as long as you prefer to take. Do not move forward with the next chapter until you have made substantial progress with the current chapter. The sections of the journals are:

Tips for Success:

  • Go slowly. Just like reading a great novel, toward the end you want to savor those last pages. This is true with training in the Solution Method. The work you are doing is elegant. Don’t stop until you can say to yourself and your provider: "I have a Solution in my life. I have freedom from external solutions and an abundance of life’s richest rewards: Integration, Balance, Sanctuary, Intimacy, Vibrancy and Spirituality!"
  • Your Solution is unique. Some people are bouncy, happy, thin, excess-free individuals. Others who have a higher allostatic load (more wear and tear and sensitization of the brain due to trauma, upset health problems and other stressors) may not be so bouncy, happy, thin and excess-free. Embrace the residue of past challenges and consider it part of the unique fingerprint of your life. Don’t deprive yourself of recognizing that you have a Solution when you do. Likewise, rushing the process and leaving the group early is sad. It’s that last inch of the climb that tends to create transformation.
  • When you reach your Solution, celebrate! As you transition out of your group think, about the relationships you’ll keep, those you will still contact by phone for Connections and decide what new support you want. Mainly, be joyful. It’s easy now and you have earned it!
